Modus Baru Penipuan via email mohon threadnya

Penipu Internet

Entah karena Afrika dilanda kemiskinan apa tidak, banyak sekali penipu dari Afrika yang berkeliaran mencari mangsa di Internet.

Mereka mengirim email ke jutaan orang dengan mengiming-imingi uang jutaan dollar. Kita dijanjikan akan dapat persentase hingga 30%. Banyak orang yang tertarik dengan iming-iming ini. Tapi bukannya dapat uang, kita malah dimintai uang oleh mereka sebesar ribuan dollar dengan dalih biaya konsultasi segala macam.

Jika kita bayar, berarti tipuan mereka berhasil dan kita menunggu sia-sia mimpi jutaan dollar yang mereka berikan kepada kita.

Bayangkan. Ada yang menawari saya 30% komisi dari US$ 12,5 juta (Rp 32 milyar). Dan email macam ini masuk ke inbox saya setiap hari (mungkin email address saya sudah masuk database para penipu tersebut) Kalau benar kan berarti saya akan jadi sangat kaya, kaya, dan kaya….

Kenapa uang milyaran tersebut ditawarkan kepada saya yang bukan apa-apa? Kenapa tidak ditawarkan ke SBY atau Jusuf Kalla? Atau kenapa tidak ditawarkan ke Maia Estianty dan Dhani Ahmad yang lagi ngetop di Gossip Show? Atau orang yang dikenal lurus dan jujur seperti Aa’ Gym, Ustad Muhammad Arifin Ilham atau Ustad Yusuf Mansur? Kenapa harus ke saya yang track recordnya tidak jelas…? Ini saja sudah satu keanehan bagi saya.

Ada lagi yang meminta username dan password email kita dengan alasan ada masalah. Mereka memakai alamat email seolah-olah berasal dari provider email yang kita pakai seperti Yahoo atau Gmail. Begitu diberi, mereka rubah passwordnya dan mengirim email ke alamat email yang ada di address book kita untuk minta sumbangan dengan alasan kena musibah. Ada dosen ITB yang tertipu dengan cara ini. Kenalannya dapat email berisi berita bahwa dosen tersebut mengalami kecelakaan pesawat di Afrika dan minta agar ditransfer uang karena saat ini dia tak punya uang. Yang harus kita ingat adalah, provider Email yang benar tidak akan pernah minta user name atau password karena mereka sudah punya.

Jadi hati-hatilah dengan para penipu internet dari Afrika (meski saat ini dari negara-negara lain juga bermunculan).

Update terakhir, dari Inggris juga ada bahkan dari Indonesia. Bahkan ada pula penipu yang memakai salam “Assalamu’alaikum.” Jadi hati-hatilah karena mereka memakai segala cara agar anda percaya pada tipuan mereka.
